Porthidium yucatanicum
(Smith, 1941)
Yucatán, Mexico. June 28, 2016
These small vipers are subject to sexual size dimorphism. Females average 18 inches in length, while males are around 14 inches. As you can imagine, neonates are incredibly small, and difficult to spot on the roads at night.
