Western Slimy Salamander

Plethodon albagula
Grobman, 1944
Franklin Co., Missouri. April 19, 1974.

This was my first salamander of any kind, a pair of them found under a large rock on a forested hillside. The photos are of a Plethodon albagula from Mingo Swamp in southern Missouri. ‘Sticky salamander’ might be a more appropriate common name.

My Flickr album for this species is here.

HerpMapper records for this species are here.
