Rice Field Frog

Fejervarya limnocharis
(Gravenhorst, 1829)
Lat Krabang, Thailand. February 17, 2016

About a mile from my hotel in Lat Krabang were a series of rice paddies, which produced this species in large numbers. To make nighttime frogging more interesting, there was an open-air karaoke joint on the far side of the fields, so while we were poking around the edges of the paddies, the locals were singing up a storm across the way. Most of the limnocharis we found sported an orange or yellowish dorsal stripe, but a few were stripeless.
