Ozark Zigzag Salamander

Plethodon angusticlavius
Grobman, 1944
Christian Co., Missouri. March 14, 2010.

This specimen was found under a flat rock at the bottom of a forested hillside. I read somewhere that P. angusticlavius prefers somewhat moister habitats than other plethodontid salamanders, so the on-moss photograph is totally appropriate. Plenty of moss where this salamander lived.
