Northern Rubber Boa

Charina bottae
(Blainville, 1835)
Salt Lake Co., Utah. July 22, 2011.

Two rubber boas and two moose made for a productive hike up into the Wasatch mountains. The first boa was under a large rock on a steep hillside, and the second was out on the trail coming down. A very good day, but a tough one – my first hike at altitude (to 9000 feet).
