Marbled Rain Frog

Pristimantis ventrimarmoratus
(Boulenger, 1912)
Madre Selva field station, Depto Loreto, Peru. January 13, 2013.

A small-but-chunky pristimantid with a rugose dorsum and a scapular ‘W’. The tympanum is absent or obscured with a dark mark. Pale venter with darker mottlings. The groin and tibia are adorned with markings of pale whitish-blue and black. The eyes are light gold with darker veinations, and a narrow dark band transverses the pupil.
